Buying advice
Autumn
Autumn is the season when the home becomes a refuge from the cold and the early dusk. It is precisely the scent and the soft light of a candle that can turn an ordinary evening into a moment of rest. Autumn decorative candles are hand-poured from soy and plant wax, which burns calmly and evenly — more cleanly and slowly than paraffin, so a single candle gives you long hours of pleasant fragrance. Their scents draw on the classics of the season: warming cinnamon and spices, sweet baked pumpkin, juicy apples and earthy wood, completing the atmosphere exactly as you imagine autumn to be.
How to choose an autumn candle
When choosing, be guided above all by the scent and the space in which the candle will burn. Warm and spicy scents such as cinnamon or clove suit the living room and social spaces, where they create a feeling of cosiness. Sweeter notes of caramel and baked pumpkin come into their own nicely in the kitchen or dining room, while freshly fruity apple and pear are suited to smaller rooms for everyday use. If you are looking for a soothing atmosphere for reading or relaxing, reach for the earthy scents of wood and forest. Size matters too: for a smaller room a single medium candle is enough, while in a larger space you can arrange several smaller pieces and create a unified decorative theme.
How to create a cosy autumn atmosphere
The strongest impression comes from a combination of light, scent and materials. Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface — a wooden tray, a ceramic dish or a stone — and complement it with natural elements such as dried leaves, chestnuts, pumpkins, cinnamon sticks or a knitted blanket. Several candles at different heights create a pleasant, layered light instead of a single sharp point. Thanks to the handmade production, each piece is unique and may vary slightly in shade or wax texture — this is not a flaw but a sign of attention to detail. Candles thus serve both as a tasteful gift and as a seasonal decoration that rounds off the mood of the whole home.
What to watch out for when using them
Every candle burns with an open flame, so use it with care. When lighting it for the first time, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the container — this prevents uneven burning and so-called tunnelling. Before each subsequent lighting, trim the wick to about half a centimetre so that the flame does not smoke and burns calmly. Place the candle out of the reach of children, pets and flammable materials such as curtains or paper decorations, and never leave it burning unattended. Extinguish it with a lid or a snuffer rather than by blowing, so that the hot wax does not splatter.

Safety warning in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety
Autumn decorative candles burn with an open flame and produce hot, liquid wax. Improper use may cause burns or fire. Please follow these instructions:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended and always extinguish the flame before leaving the room or going to sleep – ideally with a candle snuffer; do not blow into the hot wax.
- Keep the candle, matches and lighter out of the reach of children and pets.
- Place it on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface at a safe distance from flammable materials – curtains, textiles, paper, dry leaves and autumn arrangements or furniture.
- Do not light the candle in a draught or near heat sources.
- Keep a distance of at least 10 cm between individual candles.
- Before each lighting, trim the wick to about 1 cm so that the flame does not smoke and is not too high.
- Do not move or touch a burning candle while the wax is liquid and hot – there is a risk of burns.
- Never extinguish hot wax with water.
- Stop using the candle when about 1–2 cm of wax remains; do not continue using a cracked or damaged container.
