Unisex Watches
Unisex watches are the ideal solution for anyone seeking a versatile accessory regardless of gender. Thanks to their neutral design and customizable features, they are suitable for everyday wear, work, and leisure. In the following lines, we will explain what to look for when choosing, which materials are most popular, and how to properly care for your watch.
How to Choose Unisex Watches
When selecting unisex watches, it is important to consider several factors. First, focus on the case size – unisex models typically range from 30–42 mm, which suits most wrists. For slimmer wrists, models with a 30–36 mm case are ideal, while more robust wrists will appreciate 38–42 mm. Next, consider the display type: digital watches offer precise time and features like stopwatch, backlight, or alarm, which are great for running or hiking. Analog models with hands look more elegant and are suitable for business meetings or evening events. Don't forget the strap – silicone straps are perfect for sports as they are breathable and easy to clean, while metal or leather straps give the watch a formal look. For everyday wear, we recommend a combination of a steel case with a silicone strap, which is both practical and stylish.
Features Worth Noticing
Water resistance is crucial for unisex watches, especially if you plan to wear them during sports or in the rain. A minimum of 30 meters (3 ATM) is sufficient for everyday use, such as washing hands or accidental splashes. For swimming in a pool or the sea, we recommend at least 50 meters (5 ATM), and for snorkeling, 100 meters (10 ATM). Another useful feature is a date window, which helps you keep track of the day of the month, or a chronograph for measuring elapsed time. For digital models, a backlight for better readability in the dark and an alarm for waking up are appreciated. Some models also include a tachometer, which is useful for measuring speed during sports.
Quality and Materials
The material of the case and strap significantly affects the watch's lifespan. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and gives the watch a premium look, suitable for everyday wear and more demanding conditions. Silicone straps are flexible, lightweight, and hypoallergenic, as they do not irritate the skin – ideal for summer months or intense sports. Digital watches often use a plastic case, which is lightweight and impact-resistant, perfect for outdoor activities like cycling or hiking. Leather straps, on the other hand, give the watch a classic look but require regular maintenance and are not suitable for water. Metal straps made of stainless steel are durable and easy to clean, but they can be heavier on the wrist.
Glass and Its Protection
Mineral glass is the standard in the mid-range, offering good scratch resistance and being affordable. Sapphire glass is harder and more resistant, almost scratch-proof, suitable for those who wear their watch daily and want long-lasting durability. Cheaper models often use acrylic glass (plexiglass), which is softer and more prone to scratches but can be easily polished with a paste. For everyday wear, we recommend mineral or sapphire glass, especially if you work in an environment with a risk of scratches, such as a workshop or manual labor.
Maintenance and Care
To ensure your unisex watch serves you for as long as possible, give it regular care. After contact with saltwater or sweat, rinse the strap with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth – this prevents corrosion of metal parts and silicone odor. Silicone straps can be washed with mild soap, while metal straps just need to be wiped with a dry cloth to remove grease and dirt. Clean leather straps with a special leather cleaner and avoid contact with water. Have the battery replaced by a professional to avoid damaging the seals and letting moisture into the case. Store your watch in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, which could damage the seals or battery. If you are not using it for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
Discover our range of unisex watches and choose the model that best suits your style and needs. Whether you prefer a simple digital design for sports, an elegant analog version for work, or durable outdoor watches for hiking, you will find the right one in our store. Each piece is carefully selected to meet high standards of quality and design.
Category information
Important safety notice for unisex watches in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)
This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of unisex watches (analog, mechanical/automatic, quartz battery-powered, and smart watches). Since they contain glass, small parts, a battery/electronics, and their water resistance is limited by the manufacturer’s specification, please follow the instructions below.
Basic safety and handling principles
- Keep out of reach of children: Small parts (crown, screws, battery cover) and glass can cause cuts or choking; the product is not a toy.
- Glass parts: Do not wear the watch if the glass is cracked or chipped; there is a risk of cuts and damage to the mechanism.
- Water and moisture: Respect the water resistance marking; “water resistant” does not mean suitable for showering/swimming unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.
- Heat, magnets, and shocks: Do not expose to extreme temperatures, strong magnetic fields, or impacts; this may reduce accuracy and damage seals.
Proper and safe use
- Crown and buttons: Do not operate them underwater; after setting, firmly press/screw the crown according to the type to maintain tightness.
- Water resistance in practice: Use only models with the appropriate marking for swimming and showering; after contact with salt water, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it.
- Sports and work: For impact/dirt activities, choose sports models or remove the watch; protect the glass and crown from hits.
- Smart functions and charging: Charge in a stable, ventilated place; do not cover the device during charging and do not charge it on the body.
Cleaning, maintenance, and storage
- Cleaning: Clean the case and strap with a soft cloth; rinse and dry metal parts, do not soak leather; avoid aggressive cleaners and acetone.
- Service: Entrust battery/seal replacement and pressure testing to a service center; consider professional service if mechanical accuracy decreases.
- Storage: Store dry, away from direct sunlight and magnetic sources; store smart watches long-term with approximately 40–60% charge.
Specific health warnings
- Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel), surface treatments, and silicones may cause reactions; if redness or itching occurs, remove the watch and clean the skin.
- Skin hygiene: After sweating, clean and dry the skin under the watch; prolonged moisture may cause irritation.
- Implanted devices: Use strong magnetic clasps and charging coils according to doctor and manufacturer recommendations.
Disposal
- Ecological disposal: Do not dispose of electronic parts, accumulators, and batteries in household waste; hand them over to an electronic waste collection point. Sort metal/plastic according to local regulations.
Incidents and contact
- In case of an incident (cut by broken glass, skin irritation, water ingress into the case), immediately stop using the watch and seek service or medical help. Keep the product and proof of purchase for filing a complaint.
